Get Comfortable Acknowledging Fear

It is important to be aware of the feeling of fear towards things. So we can be the ones telling ourselves to try something new and stay open to what won’t kill us. To be aware of the feeling so you can quickly ask yourself, “Are you just scared?” and be able to push through that knowing that it is just fear. But I guess before you get to that step you have to actually be honest with yourself. Assess how it feels to admit you are scared and assess how it feels to say you aren’t scared. Which feels better? Which one feels like a weight off your shoulders? Because sometimes that’s how you find truth. Testing out how each answer feels can be a good way to gauge yourself, your actual self. Fear is natural. It’s been with you since you were a kid. You can either choose to acknowledge it and walk past it or you can let it run on repeat like a record playing in the back of your head until eventually it’s just always on and you don’t even hear it anymore and then you convince yourself that your preferences and resistance is just part of being an adult.

Never think you are above your feelings.

They’re just tools.

You have to allow yourself to surprise yourself.
